Wire sculptor: Alana Dyson

Alana Dyson, sculptor and singer-songwriter

Ali Dyson is artfully bending thin wire; the result will be a considerably graceful long-stemmed flower or other natural form. Dyson was part of the recent Ann Rowell celebration of Women in the Arts, said Debi Engle.

See more of Dyson's work in the shop at Artspace, 710 Texas.

Also, don't be surprised to walk into a boite and hear a soaring melody emanating from her throat - she's a talented singer and songwriter, too.

If you're wondering about the preponderance of Dysons in these pages, allow me to explain. Stuart Dyson, who works at Artspace, is Ali's brother. Cookie Dyson Garner, singer in Lip Service and many other bands (also a painter) is their mom. And designer-musician-artist Alan Dyson is their dad.
